Designing an Operating Model for Agentic AI

Agentic systems need governance, tool boundaries, and escalation paths before they can safely handle real work.

Designing an Operating Model for Agentic AI

Agentic AI systems can plan, call tools, and coordinate multi-step work. That makes them useful, but it also makes them operational software rather than simple model calls.

An effective operating model defines which tools an agent can use, what data it can access, when it must ask for approval, and how teams audit its decisions. The goal is not to remove people from the loop everywhere. The goal is to reserve human review for the decisions that truly need judgment.

Start with low-risk workflows, capture traces for every run, and define clear success and rollback criteria before expanding autonomy.
